Childhood Fantasy
When I grow up I am going to be a fireman.
Anyway that is my plan.
I think it will be cool
I hope I don’t look like a fool!
I get to wear red and drive a big truck.
I hope I can help people get un-stuck.
I am only a little boy now,
I’ll grow into a fireman somehow.
It will start small with a rash,
Then I’ll grow a big mustache.
When I grow older I will put out fires,
On a big red machine with large tires.
I get older every day,
But mom said I have to stay.
Big danger and fun feel far away,
I am stuck home where I play.
Third grade will change it all!!
Next year I will be so tall.
Big and manly that’s my plan,
Then I will be a fireman!
